Piano Playground Policies & Guidelines

1. General Policies

1.1 Commitment to Excellence

At Piano Playground, we are committed to providing high-quality music education in a safe, supportive, and enriching environment. Our policies are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and the best possible experience for students, families, and teachers alike.

1.2 Contact Information & Communication

Our primary contact number is 07356 134246, available 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM daily.

For urgent issues outside of these hours, please contact Erin or your teacher directly.

All official communications will be sent from the number above.

2. Safeguarding & DBS Checks

2.1 Safeguarding Lead

Erin is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and is responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of all students.

Any safeguarding concerns should be reported to Erin immediately, and appropriate action will be taken in line with local guidance.

2.2 Enhanced DBS Checks

All staff members at Piano Playground hold enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.

These records are available on demand for parents or guardians who wish to verify them.

3. Lesson Policies

3.1 Scheduling & Attendance

Lessons are scheduled once they have been purchased, or in bulk for students on a subscription plan.

Consistent attendance is essential for student progress. If a student is unable to attend, the cancellation policy applies (see Section 3.2).

3.2 48-Hour Cancellation Policy

Students: Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to qualify for a rescheduled lesson or credit.

Teachers: If a teacher cancels a lesson within 48 hours, the next lesson for that student will be provided free of charge.

Exceptions: Illness is considered an exception, and we encourage families to notify us as soon as possible in such cases.

3.3 Exams & Performance Preparation

Students wishing to take graded exams must discuss their plans well in advance with their teacher.

Exam entries will be collected in advance of ABRSM booking periods for all exams and entries will be made by piano playground.

Performance opportunities, including our annual summer concert, are an integral part of our program, and participation is highly encouraged.

4. Fees & Payments

4.1 Payment Structure

Lessons are charged on a monthly, block, or lesson-by-lesson basis, depending on the student’s payment plan.

Payments must be made by the due date indicated on the invoice.

4.2 Referral Policy

If a current family refers a new student to Piano Playground, they will receive a 25% discount on their next invoice.

5. Social Media & Content Sharing

5.1 Online Presence

As we grow our online presence, we will be creating more content featuring our students’ musical journeys.

Families will be asked for explicit consent before any content is shared publicly.

5.2 Opt-Out Option

If you do not wish for any media involving your child to be used, you may opt out at any time by notifying us.

Even with permission granted, all faces will be blurred to maintain privacy.

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Studio Environment

Our teaching spaces are kept clean, safe, and conducive to learning.

Hand hygiene is encouraged before and after lessons.

6.2 Emergency Procedures

In case of an emergency, teachers are trained to follow appropriate safety protocols.

Parents will be contacted immediately in case of any incident involving their child.

7. Feedback & Continuous Improvement

We regularly seek feedback from students and families through feedback forms and direct communication.

Your insights help us enhance our services and provide the best possible learning experience.
